Federal funding streams such as Medicaid, the Children’s Health Insurance Program, and Title X are critical in providing access to health care for low-income youth.
- Title X (pronounced “Title Ten”) is a federal funding stream that has provided access to services such as birth control, pap smears, and STI screening and treatment since the 1970s. - Medicaid and CHIP provides health insurance to about half of the children In Texas. The federal government pays for about two-thirds of Medicaid costs. Learn more here.
