HFTX Launches New Online Learning Platform
Healthy Futures of Texas recently launched a new online learning platform called HFTX Classroom. This interactive resource brings our decades of experience in supporting health education to your fingertips. Users can immerse themselves across a range of topics and courses, all while learning at their own speed.
To learn more about this exciting new platform, we spoke with Anthony Betori, HFTX’s Director of Curriculum & Innovation.
About HFTX Classroom
Tell us about the core features and tools available within HFTX Classroom.
The core feature of HFTX Classroom is flexibility. You can now access all the training material you know and trust from Healthy Futures whenever you’re available to learn! In terms of technological tools and features, users can expect interactive quizzes, self- assessment exercises, videos, automatic certificates when you complete the course, and more!
What types of learning formats does the platform support?
Learners of all types are welcome to HFTX Classroom. We use a range of learning strategies to enhance each learner’s experience and provide a dynamic learning space. Lessons generally have learning formats that first explore and explain a topic, like videos and written explanations. Then, users explore their own thoughts related to the topic through self-assessments and journaling. After that, we check understanding through assignments, quizzes, and uploaded documents.
Can organizations customize their training based on their specific needs or requirements?
Yes! We’d love to work with your organization to customize HFTX Classroom content and experiences. There are two major ways we can customize with you. 1) Modify the order, packaging, and content of existing modules to focus directly on the topics you’re interested in, and 2) build new content together that can be delivered through HFTX Classroom modules. Our training team has been creating customized trainings for many years, so whatever your dreams are, we can make them happen.
Continuing Education Credits
What’s the process for learners to obtain and verify their continuing education credits?
All learners are eligible for continuing education credits upon completing the module they’re working on. Following completion, you’ll receive an email from our team that contains the menu of CE options. All you need to do is let us know which ones you need, then we’ll generate and send you a certificate!
How do you stay current with changing CE requirements across different healthcare professions?
CE requirements change often, so this is an important question. For some CEs, like for social workers (SWs) and teachers (CPEs), we can approve and offer everything in house. For others, like those for Community Health Education Specialists (CHES), we work with external auditors to ensure our products and trainings are up to date. Our staff have many professional certifications they keep up to date for themselves, so we know how important it is to ensure that the CEs you get are the CEs you actually need!
One thing to note: our upcoming community health worker (CHW) certification program, expected to launch this Fall, will be updated to include the new competencies necessary for certification that will be mandatory starting in 2026.

Success Stories & Results
Can you share some success stories from organizations or individuals using HFTX Classroom?
We’re excited to report we’ve already had success with HFTX Classroom. We worked in the past with a county health department to train them on our Big Decisions curriculum program. They recently hired two new people, which is too small of a group to book an individual training. Instead, they enrolled their staff in the Foundations Package and the Welcome to Big Decisions! modules to get them ready to implement in their community.
How has HFTX Classroom impacted continuing education compliance for your users?
We hope to make CE compliance easier for everyone. There is always a need for CEs that are affordable and easy to access, and it’s also important to us that they’re high-quality. That’s why all courses on HFTX Classroom have been rigorously researched and tested before launch. We want your CE experience to be the best one you can.
