What types of learning formats does the platform support?
Learners of all types are welcome to HFTX Classroom. We use a range of best-practice strategies to enhance each participant’s experience and create a dynamic learning space. Lessons generally use learning formats that first explore and explain a topic, such as videos and written explanations. Then, users explore their own thoughts related to the topic through self-assessments and journaling. From there, comprehension is checked through assignments, quizzes, and uploaded documents. All modules are accessible for a wide variety of disabilities and needs. Users can turn on screen readers, change text size, access ADHD-friendly versions of the site, and much more. Just click the blue icon in the lower right corner to get started.
Can organizations customize their training based on their specific needs or requirements?
Yes! We’d love to work with your organization to customize HFTX Classroom content and experiences. There are two major ways we can customize with you. 1) Modify the order, packaging, and content of existing modules to focus directly on the topics you’re interested in, and 2) build new content together that can be delivered through HFTX Classroom modules. Our training team has been creating customized trainings for many years, so whatever your dreams are, we can make them happen.
Continuing Education Credits
What are the benefits of taking the HFTX Classroom courses?
You can earn more than 20 CEUs and certifications for many topics that support professional growth, personal development, and career advancement. New strategies learned through CEU courses can directly enhance classroom engagement and learning outcomes.
These strategies include, but are not limited to, the following: classroom management strategies, engaging adult learners and. youth learners, understanding principles of health education facilitation, differentiating between health education strategies (abstinence-only, abstinence-plus), engaging parents and caregivers, and teaching about healthy decisions in today’s schools. We also teach how trauma occurs and why it’s important in health education and strategies that accommodate people with trauma, the critical role of School Health Advisory Councils (SHACs) in implementing health ed, and the laws guiding how they are run, and other related topics.
What’s the process for learners to obtain and verify their continuing education credits?
All learners are eligible for continuing education credits upon completion of each module. Following course completion, users l receive an email from our team with the menu of CE options. All you need to do is let us know which ones you need, and we’ll generate and send you a certificate!
How do you stay current with changing CE requirements across different healthcare professions?
CE requirements change often, so this is an important question. For some CEs, such as social workers (SWs) and teachers (CPEs), we can approve and provide everything in-house. For others, such as those for Community Health Education Specialists (CHES), we work with external auditors to ensure our products and training are up to date. Our staff holds many professional certifications and keeps them up to date, so we know how important it is to ensure the CEs you get are the ones you actually need!
One thing to note: our upcoming community health worker (CHW) training program, expected to launch this winter, will be updated to include the new Texas DSHS competencies required for certification, which will be mandatory starting in 2026. Sign up on the interest list here.
User Experience & Support
What kind of technical support and customer service is provided?
We are always here for you. If you’re new to online learning or an experienced digital learner, we can help with any questions you have. Just email us at technicalassistance@healthyfutures-tx.org, or talk with us through your organization’s point of contact.
Is there a free trial or demo available?
You can also access our “Why Sex Ed?” module about building support for sexual health education in your community for FREE until the end of 2025, using code EXPLORE25.
Success Stories & Results
Can you share success stories from organizations or individuals who use HFTX Classroom?
We’re excited to report we’ve already had success with HFTX Classroom. We worked with a county health department in the past to train them on our Big Decisions curriculum. They recently hired two new people, which is too small a group to book an individual training. Instead, they enrolled their staff in the Foundations Package and the Welcome to Big Decisions! modules to get them ready to implement in their community.
How has HFTX Classroom impacted continuing education compliance for your users?
We hope to make CE compliance easier for everyone. There is always a need for CEs that are affordable and easy to access, and it’s also important to us that they’re high-quality. That’s why all courses on HFTX Classroom have been rigorously researched and tested before launch. We want your CEU experience to be the best it can be.
