With generous support from the Wellpoint Foundation, Healthy Futures of Texas (HFTX) is expanding access to Community Health Worker training across Texas.

What is a Community Health Worker (CHW)?

Community Health Workers are trusted public health professionals who serve the communities they know and understand. Rooted in lived experience and cultural connection, CHWs build strong relationships and help individuals and families access health and social services.

Through outreach, education, and advocacy, they reduce barriers to care and strengthen community wellbeing.

CHW Certification is overseen by Texas DSHS and helps strengthen and professionalize the workforce statewide.
